Learn how local and regional governments are using technology to support planning and implementation of emissions reduction solutions.
New technologies are supporting local climate efforts through: – Better data for decision making: New data tools like Google’s Environmental Insights Explorer provide easy access to a variety of data on drivers of local emissions, to support better planning and monitoring of progress.
– Tools for planning: Planning tools like ClimateView are being used by local and regional governments like the Scottish Climate Intelligence Service to more effectively plan the transition to zero emissions through a comprehensively defined system of transition elements and performance indicators.
– Tools to manage energy demand and supply: Tools like the City of Albuquerque’s BRAIN network are enabling real-time management of energy storage, generation, and building controls.
