Power to the people? Absolutely! Active citizenship, community spirit – it’s all the rage.

People are ready for change and want to have a say in the things that matter to them. The great challenges of our time require big solutions and we want to be part of that.

We are increasingly achieving this together, off the beaten track, in innovative organizational forms, or on our own initiative – no longer on the sidelines, but right in the middle of the playing field. From creating your own dream home together to testing our collective ability to share – meet the doers and makers who are taking back society to help the world move forward.

Program:

12:00: Walk-in

12.30: Opening performance & plenary workshop

13:15: Route through A Lab with all kinds of ‘Taking back society’ expos, demos and workshops

15:00: Keynote & panel discussion

16:30: Drinks

This is what you can do and discover:

  • A deep dive on Steward ownership with Gijsbert Koren (We Are Stewards)
  • Wytze Veenstra gives the workshop The road ahead: how do you get from A to B despite the obstacles you encounter?
  • Michiel Voskamp (De Torteltuin) on Crowdbuilding
  • Co-create an activist music playlist
  • Willem de Haan shares his view on public spaces
  • A workshop by Niks with Circus Andersom
  • Make your own idea more successful together with the audience and find unexpected solutions.

  • A small ‘Taking back society’ library
  • Video reporter Olga guides you through our system as an obstacle course
  • ‘Aanpoten!’ with Ruben Hein: how do we let nature take back itself?
  • A conversation with Machteld Klaassen (Aanpak Noord) and Chris Keulemans (Red Noord)
  • A panel discussion about Taking back society and how we can work together to create lasting change.

Deep underneath all efforts to transform from a War-like culture to a more peaceful one, is a deeply flawed economic systems that promotes scarcity in an abundant world, extraction, exploitation and the colonization of lands the people that inhabit the lands.

When we transform our fundamental systems that manage our lives away from the existing ones towards decentralized and interconnected locally owned, produced and distributed, we can begin the real peace project.

By transforming our public services from multinational corporations to locally owned, produced and distributed… we can change the outcome and our addictions to a very sick system.
