Communities Are Rebuilding Energy Systems—From the Ground Up

📣 Call for Submissions

Why it matters:
Around the world, communities are taking energy back into their own hands—building systems that are cleaner, more resilient, and locally governed. These efforts reduce costs, improve reliability, and strengthen public health. Most never make headlines.

Mobilized wants to change that.

The ask

Mobilized Creators Studio is seeking story submissions that document how communities are restoring energy systems to their communities—right where they are.

This is about local power, in every sense of the word.

What we’re looking for

Stories that show energy systems being rebuilt for community benefit, including:

  • ⚡ Community-owned solar, wind, and microgrids
  • 🔌 Grid resilience, backup power, and energy security
  • 🏘 Energy cooperatives and public power transitions
  • 🔋 Storage, demand response, and local energy sharing
  • 🌱 Energy projects improving air quality and health
  • 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Governance models that keep energy accountable to people

Formats welcome:

  • Short documentaries or video stories
  • Reported articles or case studies
  • Photo essays or visual explainers
  • Audio stories or interviews

The lens

Strong submissions help answer:

  • Who owns or governs the energy system?
  • What problem did the community face—and how did energy change it?
  • How did this improve resilience, affordability, or health?
  • What can other communities replicate or adapt?

What happens next

Selected stories may be:

  • Published across Mobilized platforms
  • Featured in collaborative documentary projects
  • Distributed through partner and public media networks
  • Used as practical learning tools for other communities

Creators retain ownership and participate through Mobilized’s cooperative, creator-first studio framework.

Why Mobilized

Energy is not just a commodity.
It’s infrastructure for life, safety, and dignity.

Bottom line

Communities don’t need permission to build better energy systems.
They need visibility, shared knowledge, and fair distribution.

Help those stories travel.
