Something amazing happens when people unite in solidarity for the health of the whole.
Brazil. Serbia. Hungary. People are realizing that change happens on Main Streets, not Wall Street.
Four years ago, Mobilized News produced and delivered a story of how the people of Brazil said no to fascism and elected a pragmatic president. Reaching millions of people through our partnerships and international collaborators, “We the People We the Power” became a groundbreaking documentary that explores the transformative potential of solidarity and collective action.
Telling the story of a grassroots activist, Alina Sousa, who spent her early years living on landfills, she now is a leader in the recycling movement in Brazil.
Produced by Amar Fernandes and Steven Jay for Mobilized News and directed/edited by Chris Fernandes, the project opens with an address from Noam Chomsky, closes with social activist Angela Davis, and features Brazilian president Lula, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont and many others.
From Grassroots activists to community organizers, their voices resonate with hope and determination, inspiring us all to take action where we are now.
It is time to do it again.
