About this event

For years since her release, Chelsea Manning has been working with the Nym team on making a new kind of anonymity network for whistle-blowers, journalists, and activists that is both as easy to use as a VPN and capable of thwarting nation-state attackers that can deploy AI surveillance to watch every single packet on the internet. It is now finally ready for real-world use. At this event with Nym co-founder Harry Halpin, Chelsea will demonstrate the NymVPN software and experiences of fighting repression as an activist. Doctors Without Borders will host a panel session at the end to discuss the future of prospects for privacy in a world that is becoming increasingly chaotic and authoritarian.

Chelsea Manning: Over a decade of experience in data, science, and machine learning. Now speaker on many topics including digital rights, ethics, security, and privacy. Currently working at Nym Technologies as consultant on optimising mixnets with hardware.

Harry Halpin: CEO and co-founder of Nym Technologies. Harry Halpin is CEO and co-founder of Nym Technologies. Prior, he was a research scientist at MIT and Inria, receiving a Ph.D. in AI from University of Edinburgh. He completed his postdoctoral studies under Bernard Stiegler and has been involved as a journalist in struggles from Syria to Ukraine.
