Mobilized News announces plans for a virtual WORLD STAGE that turns ideas into action
Draft announcement · October 20, 2026 · Opening date and program details to be confirmed.
Mobilized News is developing an always-open virtual WORLD STAGE built around a simple purpose: help people move from understanding the world to taking part in improving it.
The proposed experience brings together stories, demonstrations, learning resources and opportunities for collaboration across ten connected sectors. Visitors will be able to follow a community need across the systems that shape it, examine an idea’s conditions and limitations, and leave with a practical next step.
The guiding principle: Less talking. More doing.
Why this matters
A food problem may also be an energy problem. Access to healthcare may depend on transportation. A promising innovation may stall because people lack financing, reliable information or a meaningful voice in decisions.
The Mobilized WORLD STAGE is designed to make those connections visible and useful. It will give communities, practitioners, researchers and media makers a shared place to explain what they know, learn from one another and identify where collaboration could help.
Its central question is straightforward: What would it take to make this work here, and who needs to be involved?
Ten pavilions. one interconnected world.
The proposed pavilions cover:
- Circular production and materials
- Public and planetary health
- Smarter cities, information and communications technology, and cybersecurity
- Finance and economic systems
- Personal and digital democracy
- Food production and distribution
- Media and storytelling
- Transportation and mobility
- Human and civil rights
- Clean and renewable energy
Human rights, ecological responsibility and community participation will guide the experience across all ten sectors.
From discovery to a next step
Visitors will be able to explore a pavilion, trace its connections and assemble an action fieldbook. For example, a food-access pathway can connect local distribution with reliable energy, a workable operating budget and public health.
The private preview includes interactive sector exploration, illustrative connection pathways, practical choice exercises and a project-brief builder. Visitors can save actions on their device and download a fieldbook that identifies a need, a partner, a first step and a way to assess progress.
Proposed future programming includes live demonstrations, facilitated working sessions and practitioner office hours, supported by recordings, transcripts and practical resources. Hosts, dates, access arrangements and the public opening will be announced when confirmed.
The aim is to keep knowledge useful beyond a single event and help participants turn an initial conversation into a manageable piece of work.
How to participate
Mobilized invites expressions of interest from community organizations, researchers, educators, cooperatives, public-interest institutions, innovators, independent media makers and people with useful experience to share.
Contributors can propose a documented solution or demonstration, submit a community challenge, offer a practical skill, suggest a working session, or share a verified story that helps others understand an issue and act.
To express interest, visit Mobilized News and choose Participate. Use the existing story submission route for reporting; for other contributions, use the contact route provided there. Include “WORLD STAGE” in the subject or description, along with:
- The need you address and the sector or sectors involved
- Your location and the people your work serves
- Supporting evidence, experience and known limitations
- What you can contribute and the help you need
- One realistic next step for another participant
Expressions of interest will be considered through Mobilized’s existing review process. Submission does not guarantee selection or a place in the program. The current experience is a private concept preview; WORLD STAGE-specific registration is not yet open.
