The Legacy of a Peace Camp for Middle-East Girls (from 2012)
Today on Peace Talks Radio, an encore presentation of our visit with the Creativity for Peace Program (Now TOMORROWS WOMEN), the camp for adolescent girls from all sides of the middle east conflict, that we spotlighted in a 2005 episode.
This time we talk with two young women from opposite sides in the Middle East conflict – a Palestinian from the West Bank and an Israeli Jew – who learned tolerance and peace-making skills at the summer camp years ago. Now they are trying to share what they learned as peace leaders with the next generation of campers and bravely back in their homeland. This program was recorded well before the recent strife in the Middle East and several announcements in the program make note of that. We present them to expose the NGO work that will continue to stay active through the latest turmoil.
