Mobilized wants to change that.
The ask
Mobilized Creators Studio is seeking story submissions that document how communities are building democratic and participatory systems—right where they are.
This is about shared power, not symbolism.
What we’re looking for
Stories that show democracy redesigned for inclusion and participation, including:
- 🗳 Participatory budgeting and community decision-making
- 🧑⚖️ Citizens’ assemblies, councils, and deliberative forums
- 🏛 Local governance reforms that expand representation
- 💻 Digital democracy and civic tech tools that increase access
- 🧑🤝🧑 Youth, Indigenous, and marginalized community leadership
- 📊 Systems that improve transparency, accountability, and trust
Formats welcome:
- Short documentaries or video stories
- Reported features or case studies
- Photo essays or visual explainers
- Audio stories or interviews
The lens
Strong submissions help answer:
- What problem with participation existed?
- How did the community redesign decision-making?
- Who gained voice or power—and how?
- What outcomes improved (trust, equity, effectiveness)?
- What can other communities replicate or adapt?
What happens next
Selected stories may be:
- Published across Mobilized platforms
- Featured in collaborative documentary projects
- Distributed through partner and public media networks
- Used as practical learning tools for democratic innovation
Creators retain ownership and participate through Mobilized’s cooperative, creator-first studio framework.
