Why it matters:
Outdated assumptions about disability still limit who gets hired, promoted, or supported at work. Around the world, communities and employers are challenging that dogma—creating workplaces that value accessibility, flexibility, and diverse ways of contributing.
These efforts expand opportunity not only for people with disabilities, but for entire communities. Most of these stories go untold.
Mobilized wants to change that.
The ask
Mobilized Creators Studio is seeking story submissions that document how communities are overcoming harmful dogma about disability in the workplace—and creating more inclusive economic opportunities where they are.
This is about ability, dignity, and participation.
What we’re looking for
Stories that show inclusive work systems in action, including:
- ♿ Inclusive hiring, training, and career pathways
- 🧠 Neurodiversity-affirming workplaces
- 🛠 Accessible design, adaptive tools, and flexible work models
- 🏢 Worker-owned or community-based enterprises led by people with disabilities
- 📈 Measurable gains in employment, retention, and well-being
- 🧑🤝🧑 Cultural shifts that replace stigma with respect and contribution
Formats welcome:
- Short documentaries or video stories
- Reported features or case studies
- Photo essays or visual explainers
- Audio stories or interviews
The lens
Strong submissions help answer:
- What assumptions or barriers existed?
- How were they challenged or redesigned?
- Who led the change—and who benefited?
- What changed for workers, workplaces, and communities?
- What can other communities or employers learn?
What happens next
Selected stories may be:
- Published across Mobilized platforms
- Featured in collaborative documentary projects
- Distributed through partner and public media networks
- Used as learning tools for inclusive employment and workforce design
Creators retain ownership and participate through Mobilized’s cooperative, creator-first studio framework.
