Digital Skills Unleashed – Launch of global multi-lingual course for literacy educators

18 February 2026, 13:30-15:00h CET

We warmly invite you to join the global launch webinar of the new course ‘Improving the digital competencies of literacy educators’, designed to support literacy educators worldwide.

Webinar information

Literacy educators play a vital role in ensuring inclusive, equitable and high‑quality education. Yet many still face limited professional development opportunities, unstable working conditions and rapid digital changes that challenge their ability to support learners, especially in low‑resource or crisis‑affected contexts.

To help address these gaps, the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL), with support from the Global Alliance for Literacy associate member Huawei, has developed Improving the digital competencies of literacy educators, a free, open‑access course available in English, French, Arabic and Spanish on the UIL Learning Hub.

Grounded in the UNESCO Recommendation on Adult Learning and Education, the Marrakech Framework for Action and the DELTA framework, the course offers a flexible pathway to strengthen the professionalisation of literacy educators worldwide. Participants receive a certificate upon completion.

The global launch webinar will present the new course, discuss the evolving role of literacy educators in digital learning environments and highlight regional priorities for capacity‑building.
