Pacific Islands

• On August 13, Australia and Vanuatu signed the Nakamal Agreement, a AU$325 million (approx.) bilateral pact ratified atop a volcano in Vanuatu. The agreement spans economic cooperation, labor mobility, and maritime security—reflecting deepening regional ties amid geopolitical shifts.

• Nxzen, newly formed from Enzen and NNNCo and backed by BlackRock, has retained its HQ in Adelaide and is expanding its digital and renewable advisory services nationwide. Projects include digital twins for Tasmania and Western Sydney, plus solar-boosting infrastructure in South Australia.

New Zealand

• A large-scale solar farm—Kōwhai Park Solar Farm—started its first panel installations in August 2025 near Christchurch Airport. The farm will eventually span 300 hectares, generating 150 MW (168 MWp), with operation expected by 2026.
