Interconnected Goals for a Sustainable, Ecologically sensible world that works

Mobilized News · A connected guide to the global goals

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals

Seventeen goals. One hundred sixty-nine targets. One connected agenda for people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership.

The big idea

The goals are not 17 separate problems.

Food affects health. Energy affects poverty. Housing affects education. Work affects inequality. Climate affects water, migration and peace. The SDGs were designed as an integrated agenda: progress in one area can unlock progress elsewhere—and failure in one system can undermine several goals at once.

Use this explorer as a systems map. Open any goal to reveal its targets, then search across all 169 to find the commitments connected to the issue you care about.

2030

Follow the connections

One agenda. Five ways to see the system.

The 2030 Agenda is often summarized through five connected ideas. These are not rigid boxes; many goals belong in more than one.

Housing→Health→Education→Work→Inequality→Peace
The systems lesson: The SDGs are most useful when they reveal dependencies. If a project advances one goal while damaging another, the design is incomplete.

How to read the 169 targets

The goal is the destination. The targets describe what has to change.

Goal number

The large number identifies one of the 17 headline goals.

Numbered targets

Targets such as 6.1 or 11.2 usually describe outcomes or conditions to achieve.

Lettered targets

Targets such as 6.a or 11.b often describe means of implementation—finance, technology, capacity or policy support.

Deadlines

Many targets use 2030, while others originally set 2020 or 2025 deadlines. This explorer preserves those time signals rather than silently rewriting them.

Target descriptions in this explorer are concise plain-English summaries of the official United Nations targets, not replacements for the formal wording or indicator framework.

Find your starting point

You do not have to work on all 17 goals at once.

Choose where you are acting. The explorer will suggest a practical way to use the goals as a local systems map.

The Mobilized question

What changes when we stop treating the goals as a checklist—and start seeing the system?

The 169 targets make one thing clear: poverty, food, health, work, infrastructure, rights, nature and peace are connected. The practical challenge is to find the leverage point where action in one place strengthens several goals at the same time.
